PROMOTION EXCHANGED ON 3.7 ACRE SITE IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

Richard Roberts has exchanged a promotion agreement with the landowner client of a 3.7 acre former LDF allocation in a popular village location in North Yorkshire.

Part of the site is a former allocation for 20 houses, and was a key site in delivering the housing growth required for the district. This allocation was never implemented as the landowners had assumed it would last beyond the plan period.

The land lost its allocation in February 2022.

Richard Roberts have prepared a full suite of technical reports and have prepared detailed planning arguments on the housing supply point to justify the granting of planning permission even after this date has passed.

‘I’m really excited to get stuck into this application as the land has had an unfair hearing. The team are confident that with a robust approach, we can revive a site which has lost its allocation. So many landowners fight for an allocation over years and so often when one is achieved, landowners can assume it will remain indefinitely. Unfortunately if the site isn’t delivered, eventually the council can remove the site and mark it as ‘undeliverable’. We look forward to winning planning permission for our landowner.‘
