Planning appeal success for Richard Roberts

We are delighted to have had planning appeal success on our site in Carlton Miniott, Thirsk.

We have achieved planning for four units in this sought-after North Yorkshire village after the site was refused planning permission by the planning committee against officer recommendation.

The core issues were landscape and character of the settlement, as well as coalescence of two parts of the settlement.

Commenting on the appeal success, Hugh Douglas Roberts Land Director at Richard Roberts, said: “I am thrilled we have been successful in achieving planning on behalf of our landowner on this logical and sustainably-located site. The scheme will deliver much-needed family housing, as well as enhancing this particular area’s character as it reintroduces native hedgerow and biodiversity zones. A big thank you to our landowner and their agent, and we look forward to marketing the site to developers in the near future.”

Thank you to the planning and design team for their hard work on both the original application and appeal:
